Washing instruction for Mi Mi’s Hair
To maintain Mi Mi’s Hair condition wash (co wash) every 2-3 weeks and then give it a full wash with shampoo and conditioner every 5 weeks.
Detangle hair from ends to roots before washing.
Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water
Carefully wash with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. Do not rub or twist the hair, always wash it with downwards strokes. Follow with conditioner.
Use Ex John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair, keratin complex care, Sensai by Kanebo or TRE Semme shampoo/conditioner. (Note this is only advice other products can be used but using the wrong maintenance products on your hair extensions will result in dry, dull, tangled, damaged and unmanageable hair extensions. )
Gently squeeze out excess water and pat dry with towel. Do not roll or rub the hair dry into the towel.
Always let your hair dry natural not use blow-dryer or heater, curls will snap back in to position when hair is completely dry.
Comb hair with a wide tooth comb, beginning at the ends and working your way up towards the scalp.
Avoid using afro-Caribbean (oily) products since it makes the hair unruly and weighs it down.
To achieve large and big curls use Bendy rollers, roll a thick part of your hair into one bendy curler. You can achieve big curls if you will use 4-5 bendy rollers on each side of your hair. For smaller and tighter curls, roll hair thinly on each bendy. You can use 6 bendy rollers on each side of your hair.
Always use heat protectors before flat ironing/straightening or curling but keep in mind that heat is your hair biggest enemy. The more you use on it, the shorter the life span of your hair. Use heat in moderation. Do not use high temperatures. High temperatures can damage the hair, including permanently altering the hair texture
Use alcohol free styling aids, such as mouse, gel, and hairspray in moderation.
Do not comb dry/wavy curls for you will disrupt the curl pattern and cause the hair to frizz and to refresh curls, spray with plain water, leave in conditioner or diluted curl activator.
Weft Extensions Installation: One key aspect of caring for your weft extensions is the installation method. To ensure that your weft extensions do not shed after installation, we strongly recommend that you instruct your stylist to observe and follow these key points-
Do not split the weft, avoid cutting the wefts, also when parting the hair cutting is necessary but try to cut as little as possible and when experiencing shredding it is perfectly normal since the hair is made from individual strands
At night make sure the hair is detangled and dry then twist it back and cover it with silk/satin scarf.
